I think you need to have an open mind, and an ability to read subject matter that isn’t always kind there is a trigger warning list before this book begins, and I highly recommend you read that before diving right in. I don’t think you need to like poetry to fall in love with this book. Reading about women overcoming obstacles is always fantastic, but reading this, a book about a real woman who truly had to fight her demons to become herself, was inspiring beyond belief.
